I am quite happy with my purchase. My primary objective was to make the voice audio on my new hdtv more intelligible. My hearing isn't what it used to be, and some shows are quite difficult to understand the dialog. Plus, many TV's have lousy sound.Pro's: * Audio is MUCH more intelligible with the Sharp sound bar. * Set up is easy - just one optical cable. * This sound bar has auto on/off, and its the only one I've seen with this feature. That means that you don't have to separately turn it on and off. * Its small and discrete. * Easy to add a subwoofer, if desired. Cons: * It's audio isn't the same as a full-fledged surround sound system, but hey, it's a lot less money and a lot less complicated. * It doesn't play as loud as a full-fledged, hi end surround sound system. I recommend this product if you're interested in improving the audio, but you don't want the bulk and cost... One annoyance is that the sound amplitude cannot be controlled by the TV remote via the optical digital output: One has to use two remotes. However it can be controlled if one uses the analog input to the sound bar and change the TV audio settings from fixed to variable. I would also have liked the soundbar to be controlled via the Aquos TV remote. The sound quality is good to great cognisant of the expected performance in such a product.
